DR WHO is getting another girl assistant.

Actor Tom Baker—who is to marry his last assistant, actress Lalla Ward—will be joined in the Tardis by 18-year-old Sarah Sutton.

Sarah, who used to watch the science fiction show when she was a child, said today : "It used to frighten the life out of me, but I still switch on every Saturday night. I was thrilled to be chosen for the part."

She beat 40 other girls to win the part of Nyssa a noble alien girl from the planet [[broadwcast:The Keeper of Traken|Traken]] who is a skilled apprentice in the art of bio-electronics.

Crowded

Her arrival towards the end of the current series in February will make life in the Doctor's time machine distinctly crowded.

Already in residence will be Janet Fielding, who plays Tegan, the doctor's first assistant, and young Matthew Waterhouse, who plays Adric.

Sarah's first role was in Winnie the Pooh at London's Phoenix Theatre when she was	nine. Recently s h e played the title role in the BBC's Alice Through The Looking Glass.

The Dr Who producer, Mr John Nathan-Turner, said: "Sarah was ideal because, although 18, she looks much younger. And we wanted a younger assistant to team up with Matthew."
