London — In addition to its roster of comics, Marvel also publishes a monthly magazine based on the long-running BBC-TV science fiction series "Dr. Who." Program has been off the air for the last 18 months but even so sales have held steady it 30,000.

The 40-page publication includes learned articles on themes such as the function of myth and morality in the "Time Lord's" universe, interviews with performers and production team, recaps on previous series, and an eight-page comic strip.

"Dr. Who," which ran for 23 years, comes back to the homescreen this month for a 14-week run, and Marvel hopes the magazine will reach its normal 60,000 a month sales figure.

If it does finally come off the air, editor Sheila Cranna thinks publication will have another three years to run, recycling old episodes and providing "Dr. Who" aficionados (who cover every age) with the minutiae of his timezone adventures.
