THE frightening foes who stalk television's favourite doctor are coming to Liverpool.

Cybermen will lead the extraterrestrial invasion for a sci-fi convention to celebrate 21 years of Dr. Who.

The convention is being organised by schoolteacher Roy Evans, from Orrell Park, who is busy sorting out costumes and enticing the show's stars to Merseyside.

"Dr. Who seems to be more popular now than ever," said the Highfield Comprehensive craft and technology teacher. "It started off as a children's programme in the sixties and those children are now adults who still like to watch and they are raising their children on it.

"There are generations of fans and there should be about 200 people along. Unfortunately, we will not be able to get the Doctors becuase they have been signed up for American conventions where the programme is second only to Star Trek."

The convention is scheduled for the Shaftesbury Hotel, Mount Pleasant, on Saturday, November 10.
