| text = When Radio Times stepped aboard Jodie Whittaker's Tardis in 2018, the newly minted Time Lord was excited to show us the ropes. "Just walking into it the first time was amazing," she told us. "After I stepped in, I immediately had to go off and have a little cry.

"Being a part of this, you do appreciate what a big deal the Tardis is to so many people. It's a part of Doctor Who history - and this one's all mine!"

Although now, perhaps, it could be all somebody else's. Six years on, Whittaker has left time travel behind her, but a little piece of her era is up for grabs, with Children in Need auctioning off one of her Tardis exteriors for charity. Fans will have from 5pm this Friday until the same time on Saturday 23 November (aka Doctor Who's anniversary) to get their bids in for the prop, used in the 2022 special Eve of the Daleks.

"Doctor Who has always been about helping others and making the world a better place," Whittaker tells RT now. "So it's wonderful that my Tardis can go on to support BBC Children in Need and make a real difference in children's lives."

If your dimensionally transcendent, bigger-on-the-inside cupboard is still looking a little bare, an even rarer bit of Doctor Who history is also on the table. On Children in Need evening, Kylie Minogue's costume from the 2007 Christmas special will also go for auction at 5pm. But anyone after the pop star's pinny will have to move fast - bidding closes at midnight on this one just seven hours later.

If you are planning to crack open your Dalek piggybank, beware - neither item will go cheap, with owners Propstore telling RT they're expecting bids to range from £3,000 to £6,000 for the costume, and £10,000 to £20,000 for the Tardis.

Perhaps, for now, it's best to save your pennies for the time machine - if nothing else, you could always use it to go back and land the winning bid for Kylie's togs after all...
